What Happens When Assets Are on the Wrong Network? on Solana
How to troubleshoot assets that are present on-chain but not visible in your wallet interface.
Why this matters on Solana
Assets do not disappear because a wallet interface is displaying another network. Switching to the correct network and verifying the contract can often explain an apparently empty balance.
Solana uses a different account and token model from EVM networks, so EVM assumptions should not be applied directly.
Solana does not follow standard EVM conventions. Address formats, token identifiers and approval mechanics differ, so EVM-oriented checklists and tools should only be applied to Solana after confirming they are supported.
Solana: what to pay attention to
- Assets and tokens: Verify the mint address and relevant token-account details rather than relying on ticker symbols.
- Costs: Consider transaction costs and token-account mechanics when evaluating small balances.
- Security: Use trusted wallet interfaces and review transaction effects before approving them.
A Solana checklist for this topic
- Keep a simple record of what you reviewed on Solana, so the next checkup starts from a known state.
- Never enter a seed phrase or private key into a scanning or recovery site, including for Solana.
- Leave a balance alone when the cost of moving it from Solana exceeds what you would receive.
- Confirm the wallet address and that you are viewing Solana before interpreting any balance.
Bridge from Solana
Consider transaction costs and token-account mechanics when evaluating small balances. On the zkSync side: verify the asset contract on zkSync before assuming it matches another network.
The bridge guide below is informational; any transaction depends on current network conditions and the route shown in the bridge interface.
